many of us became friends with people due to circumstances. we went to school together, we worked together, or we joined a cca together. some of these friends eventually drift away from us when we no longer engage in the particular activity together, some stay on and lasting friendships are formed. either way, these are the friends made because we were put together in the same situation by coincidence, or fate as some may call it.
but when you make a friend (not mere acquaintance) who didn't go to school, have a job, join an activity, take public transport, or do anything in common with you, treasure him. because you guys weren't friends of circumstances. the fact that you did no particular thing together but still managed to get to know each other and slowly grow the friendship rather than let it die away quickly shows that there is a natural draw between the two of you. it's really amazing that you managed to make such a friend when it could have been so easy for you two to just brush past each other without crossing paths for more than a brief moment, remaining forever as strangers.
